Tenants from the Argyle Bowral office had the opportunity to attend a 2 day Community Kitchen Workshop in partnership and sponsored by Stafford Community Cottage at the Youth Hub on Park Rd Bowral in June.

Community Kitchen 2The workshop kicked off with an introduction to kitchen safety, sharing stories about cooking experiences and discussing favourite recipes. Attendees participated in the preparation and cooking of the recipes, followed by sitting down and enjoying the meal together and left overs were taken home.

Main meal recipes consisted of Lemon Chicken and Sweet Potato Chickpea Curry and dessert Sultana and Cinnamon Scrolls and Carrot and Pumpkin Cake. Each recipe considered very delicious and enjoyed.

The two days proved to be a successful workshop that helped increase cooking awareness of affordable and nutritious food, improve food safety knowledge and encouraged the meeting of other members in the community.

If you would be interested in being a regular attendee of a community kitchen please contact the Bowral office on 02 4861 2753.
