Various programs and rebates are available to support tenants. These initiatives are designed to provide financial relief and improve living conditions for those facing economic challenges.
At Argyle Housing, we understand that energy bills can put pressure on your budget. That’s why we want to make sure you know about the rebates and support available to help you save money.
If you’re struggling to pay your electricity or gas bill, the EAPA scheme can provide support through vouchers to help reduce what you owe. This program is designed for people experiencing short-term financial hardship.
You may be eligible if:
You live in New South Wales
You have an overdue electricity or gas bill
You’re experiencing temporary financial difficulty

You may also be entitled to ongoing rebates that help reduce your energy bills throughout the year. These are available through the NSW Government and can provide real savings.

If you have a valid concession card or receive certain Centrelink payments, this rebate helps reduce your electricity bill.

A community pantry is a service often initiated by a not-for-profit or non-profit organisation to provide food for people and families who are in need of assistance.
The items are affordable groceries, essential household items, family meals and fresh food, often offered at a budgeted or free price.
Mobile Pantries allow this service to be more accessible to more locations. They are often run from a truck or market stall set up with food in pre-packed boxes or bags.
This guide brings together key holiday season information for the Canberra community. It outlines where free meals are available, provides details of services operating throughout the festive period, and lists closure and reopening dates for community organisations and emergency relief providers across the region. The aim is to offer a clear and practical resource for anyone seeking support during the 2025–2026 holiday season.
