As part of the Rotaract Park redevelopment, 10 beautifully decorated poles have been installed.
Approximately 60 children were involved and participated in the decoration and painting of the Rotaract Park Poles. They closely liaised with the Aboriginal Education Liaison Officer Enid Clarke. The poles installation were overseen by Enid for correct formation and geographic orientation.
Pole 1: The Waterholes of Mother Nature.
Without water and sun there would be no colour or life.
Pole 2: Students hand prints the “c” shape represents children/people
Pole 3: Rock Art stencils.
Pole 4: Students handprints. The circular pattern represents the wind.
Pole 5: Lady Beetles
Pole 6: The Journey. The circular swirl shapes with paths show the journey home.
Pole 7 and 10: Stripes – no particular meaning, indigenous decoration
Pole 8: Topographic map of Young North Primary School. Circular shapes represent 8 buildings, and the “c” shape represent children and pathways.
Pole 9: The Hub Message Pole has been decorated as a “Reading Pole”. The Hub is a classroom at Young North Primary School. Children and teachers have written happy words.
