Am I Eligible?

Are you interested in Affordable Housing? Eligibility varies based on the property’s market rent, location, and supported scheme.

You might be eligible if your income in the past year was less than $64,992 to $193,179, depending on your household size. Also, the weekly rent cost should not exceed 30% of your weekly household income.

For each Affordable Housing property listed as “for rent”; Argyle Housing provides income eligibility brackets. To learn more about Affordable Housing in NSW, please visit www.dss.gov.au. To check your eligibility, please review the state government’s Affordable Housing website.

How to Apply

Make sure to check your eligibility against all the points of the National Rental Affordability Scheme. Have you earned an income between $64,992 to $193,179 (depending on your family size) over the past 12 months?

Once you have found a property that suits your requirements, click on the Apply button and follow the steps to up load all supporting documentation. It’s important to include all necessary documents for a smooth application process.

Please note that providing supporting documents is essential to demonstrate your eligibility for the Affordable Housing program. These documents may include:

  • Proof of income for all household members over the past 12 months such as pay slips or a letter from your employer
  • Proof of identity via photo ID license or passport
  • 12 month’s worth of bank statements to prove your current assets
  • A copy of a Residential Tenancy Agreement or three detailed rent receipts.

Once your complete application is received it will be reviewed in accordance with the National Rental Affordability Scheme criteria alongside any other property-specific requirements.
