In the company of local council members Mayor Duncan Gair and Deputy General Manager Mark Pepping of the Wingercarribee Shire, the BlueCHP group, and invited guests – Argyle Housing’s Tenancy Officer Rochelle McMahon officially opened the recently completed units on Friday the 21st of August at 10am.

“This project wouldn’t have been possible without the professional project management of BlueCHP and the skill of Lewis Building and contractors.”

“The builders made it all happen against all odds. When we thought the rain would never stop and things couldn’t get any worse, it then snowed. Despite all of this, here we stand in front of this remarkable complex and know that we have given 11 families a wonderful new affordable home.”

“The tenants pass on their thanks and gratitude as they feel extremely privileged to obtain a home in this wonderful new modern complex.”

The development was made possible thanks to the support of the federal and state governments via the National Rental Affordability Scheme, and the transfer of land from the NSW Land and Housing Corporation. The construction took just over 12 months, at a cost of approximately $3.28m.

Of the 11 x 1 and 2 bedroom units built on the site – 4 are fully adaptable for those with special access requirements and each unit has off street parking. The completion of these new units sees 11 new affordable tenancies added to Argyle’s existing portfolio of over 2,300 across NSW & ACT.

Argyle has had an overwhelming response to the advertising of the units which just proves the strong demand for affordable housing in the area.
