Griffin Green Affordable Housing Project, Griffith NSW

About the Project

The Griffin Green Affordable Housing is located within Pioneer Housing Estate in Griffith. The project represents a partnership between Griffith City Council and Argyle Housing with $6 million of Commonwealth funding secured from the NSW Government Building Better Regions Fund.

Argyle and Council have both allocated $3 million to support the $12 million project which has been developed to provide new affordable housing options in Griffith. Close to the Griffith City Centre, The Griffin Green Affordable Housing Project saw the development of 20 new medium-density affordable rental housing units and will see the creation of 42 new housing lots.

As part of the placemaking project, Dave Taylor Park will also be transformed to include space for a new community centre, a basketball court, playground equipment, and 4,798 square metres of open green recreational space. Cul de sac roadways are being connected to improve access throughout the neighbourhood.

The Griffin Green Transformation Project aligns strongly with the Griffith City Council Housing Strategy released in 2019. It will create jobs, support the construction industry, meet an identified housing need and help to lead the Griffith community through the post COVID-19 recovery period.
